My Inspiration
Griffin, Riven and Osa
Shelby, Clare and Griffin
I met my first rottweiler while I was still in college. I knew instantly that was the breed for me. Unfortunately I had to wait several years before I was in a house with my own yard so that I could bring one home.
My first rottweiler was Cammcastle's Mystic Riven, he joined me in January of 1998. I joined Star City Canine Club and started taking class and eventually teaching classes. Riven led me to try obedience, agility, herding, tracking, carting, and conformation. In 2003, I stumbled across Osa on the internet. She was a senior rottie in California who had been looking for a home for some time. Second Chance at Love allowed her to come to Virginia where she joined Riven and I at shows and spent lots of time keeping the couch warm.
In 2004 I was lucky enough to add yet another special rottie to my life. Esmonds Opinicus Nordike. Griffin fit in perfectly with Riven and Osa and added a lot of excitement to our home. I lost Osa in the spring of 2008. Shortly afterwards, Clare, Esmonds Vintage Claret joined me from Canada. When Riven passed in September 2008, I persuaded Ann to allow her to stay for good.
My newest addition is Shelby, Esmonds Xero to Sixty. She arrived in December 2008. It's nice to have a three special rotties to share my adventures with again.
